Being happy should be cultivated. There are moments of speculation, uncertainty and also diverse opinions but happiness is a pure feeling and should be generated. In the many challenges of life, winning brings us happiness. It is to be understood that compromise also tantamounts to happiness. Small things, little joys and gratitude is all about finding happiness.

There are no kings and queens in life because life is a common to all. Money can bring material benefits but cannot get us the peace within.

‘Happiness is a skill. As with other skills you can get better with it.’ is what is believed by Jim Leonard.

‘Happiness is not a destination. It is a method of life.’

‘Happiness is not an accident. Nor is it something you wish for. Happiness is something your design.’ – Jim Rohn

‘Happiness is in toothless smile of an infant or the elderly.’

‘To stay happy be self motivated.’

‘Success is getting what you want and Happiness is wanting what you get.’

Leo Tolstoy said, ‘ If you want to be happy, be.’

‘Human happiness and moral duty is inseparably connected.’ : George Washington.

‘Happiness does not come from doing what we like, but by liking what we do.’

‘Real elation is when you can touch a star, without standing tiptoe.’ : Doug Larson.

‘Some pursue happiness, others create it.’

‘Happiness is a by-product of making others happy.’ : Gretta Palmer

‘Happiness multiplies by sharing. Laughter is infectious.’

‘ Happiness lies in simple things, that makes life grand.’

‘ Happiness is not about feeling overwhelmed. Little smiles are also about joy.’

All of us look up to inspiration. A confidante can be a friend or spouse but when one gets lonely there is God and a source within all of us. Being a hero in life is about facing challenges. Most times we make ourselves unhappy rather than being disappointed by things that surround us.

Calming our mind with positive thoughts and reading aloud some inspirational sayings seems a perfect way to infuse the magical ray of light in life.

We feel boosted by a short story, inspirational sayings and quotes. Inspiration is needed to loose weight, to deliver a baby, to leave the child in a day care and also to fight sickness.

Winston Churchill said, ‘ If you are going through hell, keep going.’

‘Wisdom outweighs any wealth.’

‘If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost, now built the foundations beneath them.’ : Thoreau.

‘No great man ever complains of want of opportunities.’ : R.W Emerson

‘Wisdom begins in the end.’

‘The best way out is always through.’

‘He who hesitates is lost.’

‘The ability to convert ideas into dreams is the secret of outward success.’

‘A single conversation with a wise man is equivalent to ten years of study.’

‘Happiness belongs to the self sufficient.’

‘Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is for you.’ : R .W. Emerson

‘Live as you were to die tomorrow. Learn as you are here forever.’ ” Gandhi

‘Rather than wishing for change, you must be ready for change.’

‘Respect yourself and others will respect you.’

Our pursuit of happiness is often done in material items. Though there is nothing wrong in aspiring for a dream career, a bigger house or an exotic vacation, sometimes simple things bring us joy.

We often overlook the daisies in our courtyard or the tweeting bird perched on the window sill. To unwind, we go to the beach or book ourselves in a fancy hotel accommodation.

Weekends are pleasurable times. The time spent with the family can be the brunch time or the lazy afternoon watching movie classics. Lending a helping hand to your spouse in the kitchen or helping your child finish the homework is another joy that is mutually felt.

Joys also relate to the first sight of a new born or the pleasure in holding the new baby. There is joy in the shining pair of eyes that look at you from the crib and also in changing the nappy.

Motherhood or parenting is an overwhelming treasure that can be felt all throughout your life. The joy in seeing the plant bloom or the first apple in your orchard is thrilling.

For a child the first token of appreciation or the prize won is all about enthusiasm. Getting dirty in the mud or making a paper boat in a rainy puddle brings many joys.

Presenting an album of old family photographs to your grandparents is an emotional scene. Holding your spouses hand in holy matrimony is all about promises.

Mixed emotions are felt when you relocate to a locality. The sense of satisfaction in seeing your child take her first bus ride to school is marvelous.

There is joy in prayer and thanking friends. Birthdays bring joy and so do a simple appreciation by your boss. Reading to the blind or fighting for a social cause is a task but the satisfaction is great. More joys await in life seeing your siblings settled or seeing your best friend finding a partner in life.

Trying out a difficult recipe and perfecting the same is about joy. Baking a cake on Christmas or laying the table for the guest is also about joy. Joy is in smiling, recognizing the divine ray of light and the daily tête-à-tête with the Almighty.
